Cazenovia College 2013 40th Annual Fashion Show

On April 21st, 2013, Cazenovia College held their 40th Annual Student Fashion Show at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino. I was the Promotion Team Coordinator and my responsibilities involved spreading the word and enforcing people to attend. I contacted local businesses and alumni for donations and to promote the show. My team also created merchandise to be sold on the day of the show. In addition, we held a raffle of handmade items made by our faculty to raise money for it. The turnout of the fashion show was amazing, especially since it was our first year at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino, we had 1100 people in attendance! We received nothing but compliments on our professionalism and organization.

Product Development Principles &

Product Development Applications Class

Product Development Principles is the prerequisite class to the Product Development Applications class, both of which were taken in one year. We had three main projects throughout the year that included sewing and creating technical packages, all of which are included in the pictures on the left. This class gave me a lot of insight on how manufacturers and designers communicate when creating a clothing line.

Internship at Isabella Boutique

In the fall of 2011, I had an internship at a small boutique, Isabella, located in Cazenovia, NY. It is a small boutique owned by Karen and David Eldridge that offers clothing and accessories for women. I learned a lot about maintaining a small business, buying, and especially visual merchandising. I expressed my interest on visual merchandising to Karen and she had me create window displays and displaying merchandise around the store. She also brought me to a trade show where she ordered clothing for the next spring season, so I was able to experience what it was like to be a buyer. Karen's merchandise was also put in a fashion show for a fundraiser and I was one of her models showing off the clothes she offers. This internship was a great experience!
